Government Bailouts

12:01 pm Citrus County Sound OFF, Politcs

The federal government has sunk $85 billion into AIG to bail them out of trouble. I want the government to bail out my business. THEIR broken economics has caused many small businesses to struggle and go under. What is the Government doing for us? Our problems are not necessarily due to a screw ups of the small business sector. Is the government bailing us out? NOT!!

AIG, Fanny, Freddy, Merrill – all have caused their own troubles with THEIR OWN GREED. If a homeowner is in trouble, they (lender) should rewrite a loan for what can be paid, instead of them foreclosing. When this is done the homeowner can stay and hopefully be able to get ahead. When they are foreclosed on the banks lose, (sell for under price or hold on to it), the homeowner loses (out on the street), and then the rest of the taxpayers lose when the government bails the bank out. Then to add insult to injury the Company Executives are still collecting multi-million bonuses and severance packages (at OUR EXPENSE).

This has gone TOO FAR it’s time to wake up and get your heads out of your *&(& err politics and let them go under, then maybe the remaining companies will try harder to survive knowing the government isn’t waiting with a check.

Our Finacial system is broken and it is all because of politics and greed. (Are those really different terms?) Our Government needs to start worrying about us (the people) instead of the big guys, let them fix their own messes like we have to.

I would really like to hear your opinion about all these bailouts and what should be done to fix our broken system. Please comment on this article and lets get a discussion going.
